About
“Strong even when slow, in movement within a stance.” Alève
Alève Mine’s works are in the fields of music, text, dance and martial arts, moving and static image. As real as it gets, she is culturally as well as geographically a citizen of the world.
She has an identifiable voice that grabs your attention. The songs are always a result of the lyrics and by avoiding the cliché use of instruments, the quality of her voice and the freshness of the music stay in the foreground.
She was selected as a finalist in the Switzerland-wide Demotape Clinic competition, appeared in various compilations internationally, performed at the Midem in Cannes, and on two other continents, had airplay on AA flights worldwide as well as on Art Radio “Transmitterhead” during Art Basel Miami Beach, which marked only the start of a solo career and after vast experience with various bands and ensembles she has forged her own style, gaining in reputation and popularity.
With moves based on years of ballet of martial arts experience, it is clear that on stage she takes full advantage of her talents aesthetically. The MoMA Zendai hosted a dance performance of hers in Shanghai and she taught her style as part of the New York Dance Diversion group.
Alève read her texts in the framework of the Women Anthology Book Reading at the Bowery Poetry Club as well as at the CUNY.
Her moving images were born as part of her music shows, and her static visual works, initially presented in a solo show at the Cabaret Voltaire, are their ancestors as well as progeny.
