“Astronaut suffers from reaction without chemical reaction”

January 4th, 2012

That was the title of an article I dreamed of last night. It might make sense to those who know that I’ve been writing a science fiction story.

Mon texte m’est monté à la tête.

It’s been a while and now it looks like it is finished. I’ll be looking for a publisher.

One man

December 31st, 2011

On this last day of the year, I’d like to thank one man. Initially a stranger, he saw my Cabaret Voltaire exhibition, helped me carry the pictures when it finished, and left. He didn’t ask for nor look for anything in return for his help. Admirable.

We have 2 or more moons

December 22nd, 2011

Not to mention we could bring one down to Earth.

And nobody told me – since 2006.

On ne me dit jamais rien, a moi.

Some trillion frames a second camera

December 14th, 2011

This 0.6-trillion-frames-a-second camera is, I feel, a key technology holder for many fields including medicine.

Thought of the day, second edition.

We may want to apply for the Guiness World Record of the densest colony of all human species.

IPTV award ceremony pictures

November 21st, 2011

Again the IPTV Application Challenge, and this time with the visual proof that I really received this award, for the previously mentioned 7 Days Gallery app.

A small certificate given to Eric and me by Mr. Malcolm Johnson, Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau. It was good shaking that hand:

And a great big sign:

And here the whole group, including: Alice Chan (Infocomm, Singapore), Kazue Kobaiashi (NHK-Japan), Eric Bréchemier & me, Daniel A. Cruz (iTVBr -Brazil), Malcolm Johnson, Dr. Antoine Weil, Ch. LH (Sumimoto – France), Naoto Inchimaru (Dentsu – Japan), Dr. Masahito Kawamori (NTT – Japan)

I may have mostly managed to blend in. What a day!

Introducing IPTV challenge co-winner iTVBr from Brazil

November 19th, 2011

Daniel Alves da Cruz of iTVBr presented the winning Dengue Combat application at the ITU Telecom World in Geneva. More about that and pictures of the award ceremony including Eric and me for 7 Days Gallery on their blog.

Transplantable organ out of stem cells. Pituitary. Big step.

November 10th, 2011

Impressive indeed. Can’t not take note that this happened now.

“Researchers Create a Pituitary Gland from Scratch”

This gland in particular somehow always seemed very … how shall I put it… tricky? Mysterious? No more.

Announcement: The Surely Unreasonably Established Truth

November 2nd, 2011

I’m happy to announce that the single-instance static visual work “The Surely Unreasonably Established Truth” has been completed today.

It differs from the previous presented static visual works in that it started existing physically before it started existing digitally. Although, in either direction, I could object.

50 x 80 cm acrylic color on shallow canvas.

It contains six layers of nothing and a blurry dot. It may indeed not be obvious.

October 30th, 2011

Indeed developer Eric and I received the shared individual/SME award this week in Geneva for our 7 Days Gallery for art and culture on digital television. Many thanks again to all parties involved!
